Hello!

I'm doing my daily looking for a job thing, and want to use as much resorces that are available to me as possible.
I'v just spent the last couple of days posting my C.V to most of the computer service companies that are listed in the Yellow Pages. Also checking daily with the big job sites, but you don't seem to get much replies when you apply for a job through the job sites
Money is not important , it's the job I want, and am willing to re-locate to where there aren't any speed cameras.

You never know, you might know someone, who know's someone, who is looking for someone

Cheers

Scoty

sorry to be of no help mate, good CV but I am on the same boat as you.

I am trying to get out of finance and into systems where I can apply my financial knowledge and it is nearly impossible! Hoping to get something SAP related, or anything really, but without "3 to 5 years experience" is it a nightmare....... how do I get a job to get the experience??????

have you tried www.jobserve.com as it is pretty good for IT jobs...

Yeh, thanks Mike

Jobserves probably one of the better IT job sites.
I applied for 5 jobs from that site yesteday, all relevent to whats in my C.V, but some were from The Computer People who usualy send a standard disclaimer in a couple of days time and then you never hear from them again.

There has been a few good jobs came up recently in Glasgow.
Daily record, West Dumbartonshire Council, and East Dumartonshire Council all looking for Tech Support or ICT Technicians.
I've applied to each one, tayloring my C.V to suit the job criteria; and still I don't get a response!!! lol

Scoty - Hope somethng turns up soon, IT industry is not in great shape at the moment.

I still have a wide range of Certified IT Training courses on CD-Rom if anybody is interested. The courses are produced in conjunction with the likes of Microsoft, Oracle, Novell and Cisco. Plenty have gone thanks to a great response from Scoobynetters, thanks. However I still have some left and if anybody would like a list please e-mail me at iain@skyenet.freeserve.co.uk I am selling the courses at a fraction of RRP (MCSD RRP £1798 selling for £50 ono and ECDL RRP £250 selling for £2 each!!!)

Mike16V - I also have about a dozen different SAP courses if you are interested

Cheers Iain

Ian, can you mail me a list of the courses that you have please? I would be interested in buying a few to go through, and with redundancy looming in September I want to get my finger out and do some self learning.... SAP and the others too as I don't specifically want to limit myself. Then I can have a look through what you have then pick a number that give me a varied CV

It would be much appreciated

Thanks!
Mike

Cheers Iain.

Don’t suppose you can get a hold of any of the following Sybex Study guides; new or second hand?

Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Administration (70-216)
Windows 2000 Directory Services Administration (70-217)
Designing a Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure (70-219)
Designing Security for Windows 2000 Network (70-220)
Designing a Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure (70-221)
Designing Web Solutions with Windows 2000 Server Technologies (70-226)

Just finished reading server 2000 (70-215) and going for the exam next week. 2 down, 5 to go
Anyone got any old Sybex study guides they don't use any more, get in touch please.

Scoty

I only have SYBEX EXAM NOTE books left for the following

Designing Security for Windows 2000 Network (70-220)
Designing a Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure (70-221)

RRP £16.99 each. Yours for £15 for them both if your interested.

Also have NETg CD-ROM courses for all the exams you are going for. The have built in testing which is useful for revising before going for exams. The courses are installed onto your hard drive and then you can access them when convenient to study. The courses bookmark where you last were in the course and will take you right back to this point. The course uses simualtion software to create on screen views of the software you are learning about so for example you don't even need Novell installed to do the complete Novell CNE course. You also can interact with keyboard and mouse during the training. At the end of each section is an interactive exam which test you on the section and if you have any weak areas it takes you back to that particular piece of traning. Once you have completed all the course and the in built tests successfully then you are at a point where you could then apply to the relevent Examining Organisation to take your exams. I will send you an updated list

You mentioned a Windows 2000 kit with 7 exam notes books and cd's etc for the Windows 2000 MCSE.

Do you still have that?

Scotty

The Windows 2000 kit with 7 exam notes books and cd's etc for the Windows 2000 MCSE have all gone. Still have CD training for the full MCSE. The only other SYBEX EXAM NOTES Book I have left is a rather large one for exam 70-240 which was the exam for NT4 MCSE people upgrading to Windows 2000. It covers many of the topics from the 4 core Windows 2000 exams. Only got two left.

YHM.

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Scoty. You're not the only one looking for a job in the IT industry. Just completed my HNC Computer and Network Support at college and I've got 6 years experience in that particular field and I still can't get a bloody job!

Thanks
