Lovely motors indeed, let me know if you find anything on your wee trip to Ray Smith's.

Thanks for the text mate, and yeah, i'll check pricing for you, see if I can get a hold of one, n/s or o/s

Johnny, the 505s fit in the rear doors.

I have also fitted a small and subtle pioneer bass tube/integrated amp in the boot of my wagon.

Next move is an amp for the 605s as head unit (Sony MDLP 4x55) still isn't powerful enough to do the infinity's justice.

P.S. I can host some of your pics if required.

Last night I managed to snap my gear linkage on my RS and I am desperate to get it fixed for the RS Show on Sunday...

Does anybody have any contacts in or close to Dundee for me??

I usually take my car through to Glenrothes to get work done to it but cant get trailered there from my recovery company cause they took me home last night!!

Cheers,
Grant

Well, Rob usually has 'something' lying about but its going down to the Local Garage today to see what they can do for me...

If they tell me that it requires new/replacement parts then I might give Rob a shout and see if he can help me out, either that or the guy from Grangemouth who is breaking his car.

Thanks alot for the call last night mate, was feeling a wee bit rough, dont know if you picked up on that!!

Cheers,
Grant

Hmmm, yes, was a wee bit 'irritated' by that idiot who decided that he didnt want his food anymore and that instead of dropping it, or putting it in a bin, he would try to throw it at my car!!

I will give you a shout if I need any help mate...

Mmmmmmmmmm, nice... Chilli Sauce Tints, THE mod to have for 2003!!

Should be hearing back by 11am(ish). The guy said that he couldnt give me a definate time cause he is busy, which is fair enough cause I am just dumping it on him. He was nice enough to take it in to have a look at it when I phoned him up, his wife said he was fully booked til next Wednesday, but when I phoned back to confirm I'd bring it in next Wednesday, he picked up the phone and told me to bring it down and he would have a look at it.

Fingers crossed that its not too time consuming and expensive!!

Cheers,
Grant

Dunno what to do about the speakers ? Was thinking of popping into Ray Smith, see what they've got.

Or..

Mornin, Ray Smith will have a good few, pricey though. I'm gonna speak to Jeff tomorrow or saturday as he's getting some components and a few bit's n bobs for his CTR. Much cheaper mail order over the Net. 6.5" or 17cm components slot straight in to the front door as there's already a tweeter grille by the door handle. I'll keep you informed.

When did Jeff get a CTR ???
I thought he still had the Clio ?

I got my headunit mail order, so let me know if you find any decent straight replacements.

He's had the CTR on the road for exactly a month, got it for the 1st April. Got the same plate as the clio had on it. Sold Clio to a lad from Gullane. CTR is Silver, and Rapid. Only had 4500 mls on clock when he got it, lucky bar-steward. Looks amazing, but very tail happt round the old round abouts. Took him down the coast but he had the straight line speed on the non twisty bits.

Anyhow, speakers, as I said, I'll see J Lo tomorrow night and discuss options with him. Might get a wee bit discount if we're buying a few sets. Although i believe they are already very well priced.

Sorry about that... I was along looking at the RS, the standard factory weld at the knuckle end of the Gear Change Rod had corroded and snapped, so they are going to clean it up and re-weld it for me. The guy was saying that it isnt a part that is under huge stress when driving so welding it is good enough!

Sorry to hear about that centre section Johnny, you'll just have to wait until there is a cancelled order again to get a bargain!!

As for the speakers, I dont know what size standard Impreza speakers are, and also whether or not there is a different mounting pattern. I had a guy come in with a Civic Coupe and he only has 3 mounting holes and a 16cm dia(4 and 13/17 is the normal) so in the end he wasnt able to get anything from us because the only Multi-Fit speakers we do are 13/17cm which were no good... If you have a wee look through the ICE part of Scoobynet, I am sure that you will find a post about components, if not then just ask advice about what size/make to go for!!

Cheers,
Grant

Oh yes!!!

I was just waiting for the guy to say that it would run into hundreds to repair... Thats the normal bill I get everytime it goes into a garage!!

I am glad that I wont have to tell Andy R that I cant afford his GRS Cooler, but still, hopefully, picking it up on Sunday which is all good!!

Cheers,
Grant

I am getting the cooler on Sunday, hopefully, then during the next week or 2 I will get it fitted by Dave (Vroooooom Ptttssssshhhhh) off the RSOC BB)...

Then once fitted I will go down to AVA and get it all set-up properly maybe add a couple of PSi while I'm there!!

Its running 1 bar at the moment (14.5psi) so maybe go for 17 once I have got the cooler on, which should give me a nice little increase!!

Have you got any plans to 'enhance' your car??

Cheers,
Grant

PMSL...

Thats how it starts, just a wee bit here and there. Then afte a while, you will think -
"Hmmmmmmm, maybe I'll just get a re-map done, just to give it a little more 'go'"

Then your caught by the bug and more and more "little things" will be added!!

Cheers,
Grant

Guys if you are looking for component speakers for the classic, I would recommend infinity 605s. They fit straight in using metal bracket supplied.

Dunno about the bugeyes though.
