Leather seats in the scoob are as much use as a chocolate teapot IMHO if u r going to "drive" the car I know a few peebs who had them & ended up replacing them with fabric seats.
Sayin that though no matter which 1 i went for I`d definately make sure it had a roof

If you have the money STi, at least it is quick out the box and has big brakes, body kit, nice interior etc. WRX is nice but a different animal, if you fly by the seat of your pants then there can be only one

They are different beasts for different circumstances/drivers.
The STi has more potential, as it's got uprated suspension, decent brakes, uprated engine components etc.
If I was on a budget, then I'd get the basic WRX with PPP, and wouldn't bother with leather or the sunroof (no need if you have air-con, and generally more hassle than it's limited benefit). I'd far rather spend the money on fitting better brakes (the 4 pots are marginal on the standard car, let alone one with PPP), fit the WR Sport lowering springs and "sportier" tyres, possibly with nicer alloys if budget allowed.
