is is worth changing to a ctr from a classic turbo
#2
just wondering if it was worth getting a ctr after having had classic scoob turbos for the last 5 years, the last 1 being a myoo with full decat and a tek 2.5 which unfortunately got wrote off, is the ctr good to drive or is it to tiresome after a while having 2 rev it all the time, also is there much differance in speed and acceleration between the 2 and what are the residuals like for the ctr?
cheers

CTR is a great car and very fast but the Tek 2.5s are quicker! When I played with one I had to back off a bitty when I was behind him and he was trying (this was 60-100 as well where the CTR is great). Best hatch IMO

RE:- is the ctr good to drive or is it to tiresome after a while having 2 rev it all the time, - NO it's great rifling through the gears and the VTEC makes a sweet noise in the powerband. Great in town and the gear stick position/ short shift is excellent
RE:- also is there much differance in speed and acceleration between the 2 - torque differences are huge but the CTR is v.rapid from 60-100. Off the line is is 5h1te though. Would struggle against a classis though. I had mine Rolling Roaded at 210bhp last week ( standard car + Magnex back box)
RE :-and what are the residuals like for the ctr? - excellent ....just have a look at Autocar :-61% depreciation after 3years/30k miles
plus
cheaper running costs
less frequent service intervals
bomb proof engine
ace fuel consumption compared with Scoobs
BUT no flat four burble !!!! or AWD
Test drive one and you'll be impressed
I bought one after initially going for a used Scoob and the seeing that I could get a brand new CTR for £16k - however, I'm now cold turkeying for a Scoob ( especially after hearing Jools exhaust)
