Following on from the other thread about a few of us wanting to arrange a Glasgow meet on a regular basis, there seemed to be a good few suggestions, this new thread just kind of brings them together, how does this sound.
Any interested parties meet up at the Coatbridge Cinema Complex just off the M8 at 7pm on Monday the 17th of March. This is easy to get to and the parking is easy.
We can then have a more wothwhile chat about how we take future meetings forward and have a bite to eat.
I am all for arranging one day a month for the next six months at a pre planned location and time. That way we can all plan them into our diary and anyone who wants to turn up can do so.
Its easy to do what the Aberdeen crew do and post on here reminding the Glasgow crew (yeah, yeah Cumbernauld as well Mr Stevenson)
I spoke to Ricey on the phone tonight about it and he promises not to moan at anybody who "disnae turnup" - thats a FIRST to start with.
Anyone who wants to come along just post your name here. I know the date will not suit everyone but if we mess about with this it will never happen.

I'll be there.

Coatbridge though!! Not leaving my car unattended at anytime.

Springfeild Quay, now that is Glasgow, and central for all.

Coatbridge would suit me far better on the 17th, may be able to make the Quay if the venue needs to be changed.

Discussing this with Ricey on MSN atm. We'll go to Coatbridge if that is all we can come up with, however I feel that big places like that are always cammed up and attract small boys in even smaller Vauxhalls.

Not that we are going to be doing anything illegal, but I hate places like the one mentioned and would prefer a more relaxed and intimate venue where we are welcome.

I have suggested places out west of Glasgow which may not be suitable to everyones range, anyone else have thoughts on a more suitable venue?

Will still go along to Coatbridge but would rather sit on a spike than in another McDonalds.

Don't like Springfield or any of these complexes and we don't need room apart from parking spaces.

Keep the suggestions coming guys!

Still think Strathclyde park is an excellent place, not on a Sunday night though - too many Nova's and Saxo's.

As for the space - I'm one of these gits who use up two spaces all the time. I hate parking near anyone - and I mean anyone.

opelcosra, that sounds like a better idea. There is also Carbeth Inn on the Stokiemuir Road(A809) or the Beech Tree Inn(A81), just outside Killearn.

Dave should you not be organising the Falkirk meets?

I'll defo be up for one of them and will bring my telescope!

Thumbs up

Guy's,

You really want have meets at somewhere like Queens View just by Carbeth.

A car park in the middle of the Campsies, with hardly any trafic, and terrific driving roads. It's a favourite for the bikers in the summer time who turn out in numbers and usually meet at the Carbeth In for a chat.
From there you head out to Aberfoyle and up over the Trosaches, down by Lock Vencher (my fav fishing haunt) and into Callender for a pew.
We done that not last summer, but the summer before with SIDC from the Cameron House. Every one enjoyed it, even had the boy's from England up to join in.

The fun part to a meet is the driving thats done when we all meet up. Motorways are prety boaring and have far too much trafic on them.

Just another thought added to the think tank

Hi Dave

Now that's not like you to meet at a venue where there is gub and the all important PIES.

Cheers Dougie

Cheers Dave, counselling sessions offered at SIDC discounted rates at any venue!!!

All welcome but it's a shame that it has come down to someone who stays in Falkirk, to take this topic back to the top. DR, Maxy etc are usual attenders anyway and it is always good to see them.

Think the jist of this is to try and get the true 'Glesga' punters out and counted. You know yourself, along with Dundee,Perth,EBH,Ayrshire owners, that Ricey, Cosmic and I have travelled and will travel.

Any discussion on this matter is welcomed and encouraged, so lets keep it active.

Can't do anything until we make our move northward and that won't be until at least mid April, but I'll keep an eye out for these threads and hope to pick up on your meets when I get there.

As scottish menace said, if we meet coatbridge (centralish) then decide where to go from there (as in places to meet regular). Appreciate the acknowledgement of starting the original thread but was more of a question than an idea as such. Maybe the same thing who knows??. I say stick with coatbridge (easy access) then onward to better things if need be. Question is, are we going to please all, all the time. At the end of the day we meet, we enjoy and have a bull****. Some people might not make it once or twice.. so what!!. Lets not be too fusy about silly things...
