Question

Does anybody on here work for the above Oil Comapny in the Brae fields. I work for BP and have controlled the pipeline from Forties to Grangemouth for 5 yrs now. Have applied for a move to Marathon to work offshore on the Brae platforms and was looking for some inside info. I'd appreciate a contact just to ask simple questions on platform life expectancy & condition, pension & shares packages, general feelings etc etc. I did visit Brae Alpha in 1998 but only for 2 days but whats the conditions & facilities like ??

Any help would be most grateful

Caz,

I don't work for Marathon but have worked on all of the three Brae fields, over the last 8 yesra as a Geologist and a Mud engineer. I loved them. The East Brae is the best but then it is the newest. The Brae B is huge with 9 levels inside...I can only comment for the accomidation and the drill crew (may not be the same bunch of boys now).

I would have no hassle about being sent back there at all, Mind you they do tend to suffer a wee bit with fog in the summer but there again where doesn't.

Hope this is of some use!

Kate
Marathon always seemed a good company to for work as a service hand

Done some work on the Brae Alpha (Derrickman) a 3-4 years back and can also agree to the above - not sure how much life is left in these platforms now - should be OK so long as you don't want 10 years out of it
