AFAIK, Santa Pod "doesn't" include reaction time "within" the 1/4 mile time.
If it did, it would mean that fairly standard Sti's were doing the 1/4 in circa 11.5 sec'......
I wasn't aware of any time "including" reaction time.
Mark.

taken from crail newsletter thingy
Now we have teamed up with Santa Pod so we are printing out the same style timeslips as they are. The slips show your time down the 1/4 added to your reaction time so it will make the elapsed time slightly bigger, last year everything was printed separately for you to analyse individual parts of your time and see where you could improve.
Lowell - aye.. it was dry.... a few wee spits here n there but dry.... track was still as greasy as my ma's chuff tho :P
I didnt hear of any killed scoobs but i did see a corsa splatted into a stone wall on my way back to Edinburgh... looked a very stoopid crash in a low powered corsa!

Oh FFS what is the point of that! I want to know how quickly the car can 1/4 mile not me!!! I set a 1/4 of 15.3 in the VTS and want to compare that with the scooby when I finally get up to Crail this year. This now seems pointless

That new timing arrangement is a joke. Surely they must print the R/T on the slip so you can subtract it from the overall time. I could run a sub 15's 1/4 mile but sit on the line for .7 of a second and get what would seem a crap time! Can anyone confirm that the timing slips print the reaction time seperately!?

I'm pretty sure if you get a printout on the day, there's a breakdown of your times.
If you, like most, rely on the website to get your times, I think it's just your total time.
Not the best I know, as I'd imagine people would like an indication of how they're running compared to last year, after the winter work that's been done on cars.

I arrived a bit late, round 2:30pm
It was really crowded. Seen people torturing two blue old rusty buckets on a skid oval until tyres were flat.
It was so crowded and my missis was so scared that I didn't go 1/4 mile. Should come earlier, before two hundred boy racers get up. Just wasted some 40 litres optimax and most of Sunday.
