OK chaps, just thought i'd start a debate on an issue that is close to us all, waving at fellow scooby drivers.
Thing is, been an owner for over a year now, when i first started driving, 4 out of every 5 scoob drivers would wave back on the road, just a quick flick of the hand made you feel chuffed to be part of a close community of enthusiasts, now i've been back on the scottish roads for the last two months after a few months working away and out of a total of 11 scoobs spotted, only one waved back, whats going on !!!
now comes the topical part, i have never had a wave from any new shape driver, ever !!!, whats the story people.
be sure to flash you lights, toot yer horns and wave like mad if you see me in the DBM T*** RFS in the near future so i know somebody still cares. especially if you were the DBM i passed up towards fintry last saturday afternoon, gave a big wave and you just ignored us.
look forward to other views on this

I used to wave at anything with a Subaru badge on it but have kinda learned who to wave to and who not to bother.
If it's a Sport...don't bother.
If it's a wagon...don't bother.
If it's a completely standard bugeye...don't bother.
Anyone else gets a wave and they usually reciprocate.
This rule of thumb seems to work for me

No at all m8, it`s jus by the time u wave i`m normally bout outta line of sight
If it`s a scoob I`ll flick the lights, if they respond great, if
they don`t then they aint tuned in 2 the scene But the more peebs that do it 2 them they`ll get the idea.

Around Penicuik/Borders area you need both hands free to wave as there are so many scoobs now, the ******* are coming at you from both sides
Still wave if I see them though

I've given up as most people I see totally ignore the fact that I wave/flash when spotted. There are a few exceptions to this rule but I think the Subaru Impreza phenomena is vanishing....I hope I'm wrong but as the price of 2nd hand ones drop and more non Subaru appreciation owners drive them, they don't realise the craze that most of us on here have towards the Scooby.

Well i had two fellow Scoob owners wave at me today in the space of 10 miles!
A green wagon with gold wheels just outside Oldmeldrum - that Puff by any chance?
And also BKS6 (Brian?) in your STi VII just outside of Fyvie.
I tried to wave back at both you guys, sorry if i wasn't quick enough. I was in the white MY98 btw. I couldn't believe it when one waved and then 2!!
Was just on my way back from T&C after having the my headers repaired. Was nice of them to quote me £189 and then charge me £290.
You guys brightened up my day though!

Most impreza drivers are miserable gits anyway Most dont bother to wave to me when I'm in the Punto. I know they are all scared of the mighty 55bhp its packing. Conversely, when I drive the Impreza I pretend I'm royalty on the road and dont wave to anyone except taxi drivers and those on trikes.
Seriously, I mainly wave to classic owners as I recognise them alot easier. If they dont flash then no big deal - next time I see them I give them the fingers....then they flash furiously, some even sound the horn. Works for me everytime LOL!!

I stood right in front of Pete today waving like a looney for him to take it easy over the bump, and got scowled at when his splitter bottomed out. Sorry Pete, but I was only trying to help out mate, think how bad it would have been if I had just let you go for it
There was this white wagon driver who looked at me like I was daft today..........
