Going to pick up my new vehicle tomorrow, a Mitsubishi Shogun 3.5 V6 SWB. The Scoob's not going to be used as the everyday car now.

Insurance co. says I need an alarm fitted and i wanted to know if anyone could tell me a good firm to do the job for me.

Only need a Cat. 2 but am going for a Cat 1.

Also any suggestions on what alarm to get?

Cheers

I have a Clifford concept 300 from Checkpoint - £400 fitted and I can't fault it. No false alarms, and it does everything I need it to (even winds up my windows and shuts my sunroof )

Wouldn't recommend Autosonic as they royally pissed me about on numerous occasions before I gave up (on alarms and stereo fitting on 2 occasions!)

Cheers Mike.

It was really a choice between a Clifford concept 300, like yourself, or a Toad Ai606 but Clifford seem to be 'the daddy' when it comes to security.

I'll give Checkpoint a call about the concept 300 and maybe get a price for the remote start option while im at it, i quite like my toys!

Had nothing but trouble with an Clifford from Checkpoint, They cable tied the control unit onto the steering column, and some other bodges.

Have reported them to the VSIB, and am waiting to here if they meet the standards required.

Do Peregrine only supply and fit certain makes of alarms or do they get what you want?

My Scoob has a GT alarm in it. It was in it when i bought the car and looking at the certificate, it was fitted by Peregrine.

Never had any probs with it and installation is tidy.

Decidide to go for the Clifford in the end.

Intellistart remote starting getting fitted at the same time, very James Bond!

Salesman told me it can be set so as it senses voltage dropping in the battery on a frosty night and starts the car automatically to charge it up.
