STI7 PPP Paying by Credit Card
#1
I am toying with having a PPP fitted to my STI7. Said to my wife that I would be paying by credit card and she said that our dealer charged extra if you paid using it.
Is that true for all dealers in Scotland or just the one on the outskirts of Fife?

Every shop/company gets charged a surcharge for transactions by the credit card companies for using their services. If the shop/company are large enough, they usually just work the costs into their usual overheads.
I'm surprised a Subaru Dealer would pass this cost onto you as it's more common on very small independant traders.
It's usually 2.5% on the total amount of the transaction.

I knew that they were charged a surcharge on the transaction but I was really surprised when my wife said that the last time she had paid for something from the dealer, he had said that if she paid by credit card she would get charged more.
The extra would be at least £40 on the PPP and I do not want to pay that sort of extra.
So if other dealers don't charge that's the route for me. Thanks for the info Willie, I will give them a ring.
