Anyone cleaned their own engine bay and what did you use?

Have witnessed Mark Underwood doing a few bays and the result is amazing.(anyone got some of his engine cleaner spare?)

Getting some samcos at the end of the week and thought about tidying up the lot.

Also, is the felt stuff on the underside of the bonnet for sound deadening only, as mine is very tatty and I was gonna remove it at the same time?

Talking

Should be just for sound deadening Dougster.

I used to use the Autoglym Engine cleaner and never had any problems with it

Hey geezers,

After "the big bang of 2002" I did the engine bay with of all things Halfords engine cleaner, my steam cleaner and gunk.
Didn`t believe there was anything could get all the oil outta there but it worked a treat and wasn`t 2 dear

You could try traffic film remover. A friend of mine owns his own garage and when he has to service high mileage company cars, he sprays the engine with tfr then jet washes them. They come up a treat. You can also use it on your wheels and paintwork.
