Thanks to John S and helpers for another superb track event. And nice to see the sun out at KH...for a change
Unfortunately, the EVO 4's YAW system decided it was time to dump all the fluid out all over the rear exhaust and we had to retire to the pits early.(hence the smoke trails).
Whens the next one planned for??

Thanks Crush..pity its not mine..
The car belongs to my mate Mike, I've done all the tuning mods to it, with 340+ bhp in its current spec, it goes well.Just need to fix the leaky yaw, before its next stage of mods we have planned.

It was great to meet more of you lot Big thanks to John for giving me a passenger lap and for letting me pick your 'tuning' brain all night. Originally I planned to blow all my cash straight up but I think progressive tuning with reassessment at each stage is more sensible......Now....anyone got a downpipe and centre section
Does anyone know what the little yellow caterham was running? He seemed to be almost as fast as andy F in the straight section
Kartman, did you see the nutter that pulled out in front of me from the Wester Hails slip road. I had ABS involvement at 70mph to try and not hit him Not even a hand of appology either!!!

Thanks to everyone for turning up and making it a great event again. One of the most relaxed events we've had it seems.
We "just" broke even on the numbers, and many thanks to Tut, Robin, Lawrence and Paul for turning up on the night to make up the numbers. Also thanks to Mark and Rob for booking up on the day. All very much appreciated guys.
Special thanks to Susan frmo the KH catering team as well for doing a good job at zero notice on the BBQ. Due to a mix-up with KH (they thought we were bringing our own food!!), she did a great job of giving us basically all the suitable food she had in the stores for us, preapring it all, cooking it, serving it up and then clearing up afterwards. Perhaps not the variety and quantity of food that some were expecting, but a lot better than the alternative of everyone going home hungry and disappointed.
See you all at the next event.

John surely we're talking about different cars here. I've seen what small engined Caterhams can do but this thing was in a different league for acceleration. I would have thought it would be a nicely tuned 1.8 or 2.0 litre.

**** me, that's some go-kart !!
Saxo, it wasn't a silver Vectra by any chance ?
I had hassles off some middle-aged gimp with a Vectra along the bypass.
Wish I could employ some sort of James Bond style oil slick or stinger to take these boys out sometimes.

What a fantastic night I had. Thanks to John for another well organised night. You must have done something to please the man up above as the weather was great. Hopefully the 28th September Saturday morning one will be as good. The only problem was that 120 minutes seem to just go in a flash.
Great turn out from Lotus side and was good seeing everybody again. Way surpased my previous record for taking passengers out, especially for a two hour session. Didn't have a single solo run all night. The last run of the night was with passenger number thriteen and sure enough we did have a little mishap ending with an anti-clockwise view of Duffas Dip from McIntyres. Didn't realise just how much my tyres had cooled down while the track was shut for an Elise taht decided to have a refueling stop at the chicane. Did catch it on the in-car video though.
Still can't wipe the grin of my face. Just had so much fun chasing cars through the corners. Should have some close up video of some Exiges, Evos and Subarus until of course the straights.
The BBQ was a nice way to end the evening off. Roll on Kames on the 1st Sept and Knockhill again on the 28th Sept. Will get some stills from video up over the weekend.
Cheers Everyone

Yep, thanks John.
Didn't make it to the track this time, but at least I got my tea !!
Saxo - yep, saw that **** pulling out in front of you - couldn't have been a pleasant experience !! I slipped off at Dreghron to get my Optimax fix so didn't get to witness the infamous power slides out the roundabout at Fairmilehead !! And I still need that damn ferrari card as well !!
Hopefully make it to the track for the next one, but will upgrade my disks first. My last OEM disks only lasted a week after my first Knockhill excursion !!
See you all at the next one !

Thanks again John for the great evening at KH.
Shame I couldn't take you out for a few more laps, the tyres were just warming up.
And what was I saying about not taking my car on track mmmm failed miserably.
I think we should take some of the organising away from John on the next track night, so he can have as much time on the track as everyone else for a change.
Roll on the next one
Cheers,
Rob.

It was a poxy little pug 205 thing. The thing that really hacked me off was if I had actually hit him it would be a fault claim against me because I was behind, even though he dived for the outside lane at 40mph!
Kartman......it was too dry Lauched at the fairmilehead lights for the first time ever. Clutch held up well and it was an awsome experience. I could have gone a little harder I suppose but I'll save that for Crail

No no, the westhails bit after that. It's a short slip road leading up from the big roundabout and is a 70. Besides...I was following you and matching your speed from the gogar......tsk, tsk

Noticed you might be referring to the Fairmilehead lights incident in which case no it's not a 50 it's a 40!! Not to worry though cause I launched in 1st but didn't boost up again in second so can't have exceeded the limit

Nice to meet some of you - I came up with gammonroll and Theo P (dunno his nick). The Silver Evo and the new Sti were superb, but Andy F's WRX was awesome.
Had a great time, even as a non-Scooby owner!

Hi Andy / All
Is this scooby or similar car for sale by any chance ? i'm looking for a dual purpose road/race car, prefer a scooby but consider an evo up to 12k
I don't have the time/money or know how to tune up a car so i'm looking for a ready made racer for crail dragway mainly but maybe try track days later
thanks
Jo

Deadduck were you driving the silver S2000 that I was behind on the way up? If so, at some points in the striaghts we seemed to be going for it although I had to back off a little (not much I hasten to add). I was just wondering if you were giving it full VTEC action cause I expected you to blow me away but you never did?

Nahh, not the full whack. Gam was holding back a little in front, but the main thing though is, to match the torque you guys produce, I need to keep it bang in the powerband. Which is fine, cause the 'box is awesome, but it's a lot of work.

Gamm was holding back A LOT in front. I'm always wary going to/from Knockhill as the cops love nothing better than to stand with a hairdrier on that stretch of road.
Hope I wasn't slowing you down too much

No, no but there were times when you fired ahead and the Honda seemed to try to keep up and then I in turn tried to keep up and I found the acceleration 20-70 to be about equal or slightly my favour against the S2000 and I expected him to pull away?
I didn't know the roads so I was glad we weren't firing along. All though I did follow JB on the way home and he knows the roads
