The old m74 motorway between Abington and Dumfries. The last time i was on that road a met only 5 cars and the stretch is 16 miles long with NO speed cameras. Its reasonably straight roads, good for a top speed trial (had it been a private road, of course)

There's no one road that is the best for everyone.
Some people like driving fast in a straight line (e.g. old A74), some people prefer tight and twitsy roads (most of the ones up the West Coast north of Fort William).
Others prefer a mixture of fast open roads, with sweeping bends, and other like roads with spectacular scenery.
For me, the best combination is from Lairg to Laxford Bridge - 20+ miles of very quiet and demanding single track road, followed directly by the road from Laxford Bridge down to Ullapool. Very fast and open, super smooth roads. Fantastic stuff.
Other favourites of mine are the south side of Loch Ness (via Dores), and the road from Strachcarron to Kyle of Lochalsh.
Plenty of otehrs as well, like the Applecross peninsula - I was forced to take a detour along there recently after the "main" road from Lochcarron to Shieldaig was blocked. Added another hour or so to the journey, but I didn't complain.

One of my all time favourite fun roads is the A814 Arrochar-Garelochhead road. Been along it in all sorts of cars (mainly hire ones) and many different bikes while based at Faslane years ago. Loads of twisty corners and ups and downs along its 10 mile lochside route. Revisted my memories in the Elise a few months ago and really enjoyed it though did nearly ground it a few times. I am sure a Scooby would be good along it. Not a high speed road but certainly feels fast with the loch and stone walls so close.
Nearer at hand, I of course like the 13 mile B743 Strathaven to Muirkirk road as well. It just makes a day out at Kames even more enjoyable at the beginning and the end of the event. The 5-6 mile section before Muirkirk is the most enjoyable part. Road surface is a bit dodgy in places though.
Hate any road with a "M" in it.

Blairgowrie to Aboyne via Glenshee is pretty good. Also Dalwhinnie to Spean Bridge then up the great glen and over to Kyle of Lochalsh gives a great mixture of surfaces/bends/straights.
