My Sti 7 has the engine management light on, and I need to know what the fault is. The gurus reckon it's because it's looking for a cat, and I aint got none, or it's over boosted in 5th gear? I have the fix (ss box) if it's the cat problem, if not then the importer is flying up to sort it out.

John Banks has kindly offered to look at it this coming weekend, but it would save me a trip south if anyone has this facility locally (Aberdeen ish).

Ian,

you could always take the car along to T&C, and ask them to diagnose the fault using their select monitor. Your car is a Euro import, so should be able to be serviced by them.

I'll check to see what's fitted - I have a spare one in the glovebox, but the car is 7 miles away right now. One was fitted b4 I got the car. I also have a spare box, Iain Litchfield is calling it an ss box - if thats a clue.

I checked with Iain Litchfield, it is the OBD box thats fitted. No boost guage, so I don't know what it's doing. I think I will get one fitted.

Looks like I'm off to Knockhill on Saturday to meet Mr John Banks, hopefully he can shed some light on the problem. If not then Iain Litchfield and his man are flying up to swap out the OBD box.
