No excuses this time around

We have booked up Knockhill on a Saturday morning, peak season (ie mid summer!).

It's a 4 hour open pit lane session, from 9am to 1pm. Instruction included from the resident Knockhill instructors if required.

We shall also be raising money for children's charities on the day through passanger laps, and will be doing a lot of publicity in local press, possibly radio etc. and so will hope to get a huge turn-out from members of the public, as well as lots of nice Imprezas and other cars out on track, and on display in the car park.

Costs are a mere £65 for SIDC members, and only £70 for guests to take part

Wheels Around will be there as always, offering to help change/supply wheels and tyres, and will have a limited quantity of slicks available to hire (mounted on 16 or 17 inch Subaru wheels), or even purchase This is in addition to any make/model/size of tyre you could ever want at excellent rpices. This includes all road tyres, as well as racing slicks, moulded slicks etc, different compounds etc.

We may also have stands available from a number of Subaru related suppliers, offering products and advice.

Booking forms are available by e-mailing myself, or you can book on-line at http://shop.sidc.co.uk.

Hope to see as many of you there on the day

Am booked on May or may not have the big turbo on by then Rosyth Shell now has Optimax I'll need it since I'll probably have to fill up twice to prevent fuel surge in a 4 hour session

John

Booked for that session. Happy to participate in the passenger laps charity thing all session long. A passenger dons't make much
difference to me as everything dissapears into the blue yonder once round the hairpin anyway! I find about four or five passenger laps at a time around knockhill gives people a good experience. Then into pit lane for a passenger changeover. Let me know more details and I will see if I can drum interest up on other car related sites.

Intend taking plenty video on track, now that I have cracked the
setup.

Cheers Iain

Cheers guys

John,

What you'll find is that some of the "regular" track attendees, will take a couple of Jerry cans (20 litres) with them, so they can fill up mid way through the session if required. Wheels Around will look after them for you until needed.

Thanks

John

You just answered my next question as nearly ran out of fuel last time. Are there any safety restrictions on wherabouts you can fill your car up at Knockhill? I already guessed that the middle of the track is out, before somebody mentions that.

Have started spreading the news about the passenger laps charities thing to other car related groups.

20 litres, great. Must look at some that are a bit bigger than the usual lawnmower ones Are there legal constraints as to how much you can carry?

Guys,

I'm not sure where you get them from, but no-one has had any trouble taking two each with them at previous events. This has been more than enough to see people through a half day session in the past.

Iain - no restrictions, but would advise to do it next to Wheels Around, and away from other cars in the pitland for obvious safety reasons.

Black - for the first two years we ran track events at Knockhill, virtually no-one had upgraded brakes fitted. Even now, I'd say that over 50% of participants have standard brakes. It is possible to have a lot of fun on standard brakes, even on two pots I can confirm this, as my old car did about 10 or 12 sessions at Knockhill on standard two pot brakes.

Michelle - I'll reply to this thread instead of the other one, as it makes more sense. I'll send you a booking form for the 20th

Booked ages ago

No probs with passenger laps, as long as they check their life insurance first

Gonna have some real stopping power by then too

Little Miss WRX

As mentioned on the Lancer Register I am coming along to spectate at the SIDC track day in my yellow EVO 5

I have posted a link on the lancer register to try and drum up a bit more interest and get a few more EVO's along.

I would love a couple of spectator laps in the 22B if that was at all possible (pleeeeeese!), being an ex Scooby owner myself I contemplated selling my granny for one, but in the end settled for an EVO instead. I would happily stump up for your petrol or donate some funds to charity!!

If I do manage to blag a ride with you or someone else, do the Knockhill chaps have any spare helmuts to use ?

See you all on the 20th
