Default Clocked Sti

Hi, Be careful of this car being sold by A K performance:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2311819564...84.m1423.l2649

It was sold from a guy off ebay a week before here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...p2047675.l2557

The price increase is fair enough? as he making a living, however where have 20,000 miles gone!!?? That is the bit that kills it.

The reg looks different, but it is a cover plate - it is his company name, but the car is the same if you look at the stains on the drivers seat, exhaust and the fact that it's had a new clutch fitted yesterday.

This is what cheeses me off about buying a car! I have been looking for a decent Sti for so long and things like this seem common practice in the motor industry.

That was just mine point of view, outside the fact it was clocked.

Yes the point is that the car has been clocked and that, in my opinion, is bad practice. Someone will buy it and think they have a car with 89k when in fact it has 20k more miles on it. The search continues...

I rang the bloke just now and he confirmed the reg to be NJ05ZXK so definitely the same car. I asked what the mileage was and he said about 90k. Couldn't even give me a straight answer. Definitely clocked it and definitely worth contacting trading standards

full dealership history now, which is different from
"-The Car had good service history by Subaru up to about 80,000 miles, there after just a few oil changes by me and my dad and a few by a local garage. Mainly due to costs of services by Subaru."

Good job! With performance cars like these servicing is crucial and clocking it 20k is disgraceful.

Good work Detective Dibbles,Let's hope they throw the book at him, but let's not hold our breath!! These b@stards always get off with "slapped wrists".

Lets hope he now loses a lot of business at least!

That's a disgrace that folk can get away with that. Hope the company in question is hauled over the coals for that.

Great spot too!

Trading standards obviously got in touch with them. Must have been a case of "sorry my mistake, I'll change it straight away".

"Ok, thanks".

Nothing gets done about it. Only for the next one to be clocked again.

It could have been an honest mistake, but the fact remains he actually stated it was around 90k. This suggests he was trying to pull the wool over any potential buyers eyes and it wasn't a simple typo.
