Default 27mm rear ARB on a classic.

As title really, anybody have any experience of one or general thoughts on using one for fast road.
I've only ever had 22mm front and 24mm rear.
Can get one pretty cheap.

I'd think it would knock your fillings out.

'fast road' sounds good on paper but you have to consider the actual state of the roads in this country.
In reality you need a fair bit of compliance to make the car usable.

No mate, the diameter of, in this case, the rear anti-roll bar, or sway bar, as our ill-informed cousins would have it

Ah ok. Right ARB=Anti Roll Bar, got it.

What's the pros/cons of getting a fatter one?

I wouldn't even go 24mm on a classic let alone 27mm. Classic IMO standard front and 22mm rear. Newage 22mm front and 24mm rear.

The fatter the stiffer.
BUT: on a classic at least, the rear needs to be stiffer than the front, or you put the understeer BACK that stiffening the rear takes out.

And you can go too stiff, which makes the rear end of the car skittish.
