As above remap, but probably a decat exhaust, and a decent air filter as well to give you the best shot at the numbers.
You never know, you might be lucky and have an engine that gives power easily, some do and some don't.

Decent filter and remap should get you as near as makes no difference, if you want a little more full decat

What air filter and exhaust do you all recommend I buy to get these figures if I buy the car and what kind of map can you all recommend?

K&N panel filters for me. Tried a few and use these now. If you are not aiming above 400bhp then you don't need to go to a 3" exhaust. I have a cobra 3" downpipe with 2.5" end and full 2.5" system. Sounds good, made good power.

Open source = no license map. Best chat to one of the usual mappers on here. Not sure it will offer all the features that licensed remaps will such as ecutek.

Panel filter. Induction system on newage cars is very good. Just updated panel filter will see good returns.

Cool thanks. Panel filter it is then, what's all this cold air feed stuff I keep hearing is that only available on certain filters or will the panel filter in the box suffice. I will probably go for air filter, remap and maybe a louder exhaust as I don't think the prodrive one will be loud enough or produce the bhp I'm looking for and to hear the burble better. What are the turbo, injectors and top mount good for on the wrx sti? I know the turbo on my classic was done by the 250bhp mark and the injectors around 300bhp in standard form.

Standard panel box with upgraded panel filter are fine. Your vf35 turbo and sti intercooler is already more than capable of 350bhp and your 550 injectors too. You may need to upgrade your in tank fuel pump to a walbro 255 unit but everything else should be ok. An aftermarket exhaust will always help! Get it mapped again and enjoy it!!!

Before I go too far, what year is your car?

Cool. Good luck! When you get a car find out what has been fitted to it already and update the thread.
