???????

What mods would be needed to get 350bhp and 350lbs torque on a uk wrx sti already with ppp?

BrownPantsRacing 06 March 2014 03:08 PM

remap

Blue by You 06 March 2014 03:40 PM

As above remap, but probably a decat exhaust, and a decent air filter as well to give you the best shot at the numbers.
You never know, you might be lucky and have an engine that gives power easily, some do and some don't.

Athame1 06 March 2014 03:40 PM

That's what my05sti ppp made with just a remap+ air filter

ditchmyster 06 March 2014 09:42 PM

Decent filter and remap should get you as near as makes no difference, if you want a little more full decat

GONZO01 10 March 2014 10:37 PM

What air filter and exhaust do you all recommend I buy to get these figures if I buy the car and what kind of map can you all recommend?

BrownPantsRacing 10 March 2014 10:42 PM

K&N panel filters for me. Tried a few and use these now. If you are not aiming above 400bhp then you don't need to go to a 3" exhaust. I have a cobra 3" downpipe with 2.5" end and full 2.5" system. Sounds good, made good power.

BrownPantsRacing 10 March 2014 10:45 PM

Contact one of the usual recommended mappers, engine tuner, Duncan, jgm etc. Some great helpful guys. I went open source map with Duncan. :)

Athame1 10 March 2014 11:30 PM

K & N filter for me too.

Didn't change the exhaust or cat as its ppp

Duncan, open source map on mine :thumb:

GONZO01 10 March 2014 11:41 PM

What is a open source map? Does it give me more options, anti-lag,launch control etc? On my classic I had ecutek.

BrownPantsRacing 10 March 2014 11:50 PM

Open source = no license map. Best chat to one of the usual mappers on here. Not sure it will offer all the features that licensed remaps will such as ecutek.

GONZO01 10 March 2014 11:59 PM

No problem will do. I had a cone filter on my classic should I get a cone filter again or panel?

BrownPantsRacing 11 March 2014 12:09 AM

Panel filter. Induction system on newage cars is very good. Just updated panel filter will see good returns.

GONZO01 11 March 2014 12:27 AM

Cool thanks. Panel filter it is then, what's all this cold air feed stuff I keep hearing is that only available on certain filters or will the panel filter in the box suffice. I will probably go for air filter, remap and maybe a louder exhaust as I don't think the prodrive one will be loud enough or produce the bhp I'm looking for and to hear the burble better. What are the turbo, injectors and top mount good for on the wrx sti? I know the turbo on my classic was done by the 250bhp mark and the injectors around 300bhp in standard form.

BrownPantsRacing 11 March 2014 01:24 AM

Standard panel box with upgraded panel filter are fine. Your vf35 turbo and sti intercooler is already more than capable of 350bhp and your 550 injectors too. You may need to upgrade your in tank fuel pump to a walbro 255 unit but everything else should be ok. An aftermarket exhaust will always help! Get it mapped again and enjoy it!!!

Before I go too far, what year is your car?

GONZO01 11 March 2014 01:41 AM

Just sold my classic but I'm going to look at a 04 wrx sti tomorrow and if all goes to plan and the price is right I will buy it.

BrownPantsRacing 11 March 2014 09:38 AM

Cool. Good luck! When you get a car find out what has been fitted to it already and update the thread.
