Default Which fuel pump to use when upping the power??

Hi all,I have a version 6 type r and I am fitting a newage engine and combined with some other mods ill be hoping for 350-400 bhp,I have bought a fuel pump dirt cheap/brand new from a pal who didnt use it but unsure if its a good 1 as its syvec branded not walbro.
I have been looking at the rcm pumps,is there any benefit buying 1 of these over a walbro pump or using what I have?
I think the walbro is 255lph and the rcm pump is 340lph,if My ever used 340 lph then I have a serious problem not to mention an empty wallet from buying fuel!
Any input would be great as there's no point me buying another pump if what I have is up to the job.
Here's my pump

It'll only use what it needs won't make a difference to MPG.

I know but my old pump may not be able to deliver fuel at the required rate so I want to do it now before I fit the new engine.
Upping the power in a scooby doesn't go with worrying about mpg!

Think you need to read your first post it says about empty wallets etc. Only pointed out it will not use any more fuel which seemed to be your question.

No,the point I was making is the rcm pump supplies 340 lph which is far more than I'd ever need and if I did need 340lph it would cost in excess of £459 an hour to run my car which would empty my wallet.

340l pump just means it will keep its pressure up, you will be surprised how much fuel it has to flow to keep pressure, it returns what it does not need to the tank.
im running a rcm one for peace of mind..

HRC 340 is the best bang for buck pump on the market.

It doesn't mean that you will be using 340 litres of fuel per hour, if it did there wouldn't be many people running scoobys!

I know, what I am asking is is it worth spending the extra on a fuel pump that supply's way over what ill ever possibly need or stick with a 255lph pump which still supply's more than ill probably ever need?
It doesn't matter what pressure it supply's as the regulator only lets through what it's set for so as long as it supply's the correct volume and at the correct pressure well within its limits of operation then is it worth spending extra on the 340 lph rcm pump?

Kinda missing the point, it dont use 340l an hour thats just its flow rate, at 400bhp the extra saftey margine is worth it to maintain pressure

If you want to go up to 400bhp (as per your original post) then I'd go for a 340 pump to be sure, mate of mine is running 390bhp with an hrc 340 safely.

Hi there

Sytec pumps is what I wouldn't use on my car, have run cheap Wlabro which has been OK at 350bhp,but after we are went with 2.1L we are went with HRC 340LPH,which has been OK at 490bhp without the issue and has been OK at 555.5bhp too

Personally if you are going above 400bhp then 340LPH should be enough for yours needs, but genuine 255LPH should be enough too at this power(seen on single Walbro high 400bhp and early 500bhp)

As above HRC 340LPH is best for money and if its budget then RCM 340LPH or Walbro 450LPH,with last one you shouldn't have any issue at high 500bhp and early 600bhp

As above all depends on budget and bhp target

Thanks,Jura
