Default M1 speed camera

Guys went upto the misses dads up in Northampton today and on the way up there noticed that a camera flashed southbound, it wasn't one that sits behind the sign's over your head, it was a tiny one sitting on the side and it was in grey. Noticed it flashed another 2 cars on the way home too. So be careful peeps..

It's near Flitwick.

Not those ones bud, it's another one, the ones that monitor the hard shoulder are stand alone ones.

It's flashed me and I never got anything from it. I commute up and down the M1 every day and been flashed a few times by various cameras north and southbound with nothing coming of it.

The answer to speed/safety cameras? Dont break the speed limit.
I would add that I've had my points and paid my fines, now I dont drive over speed limit.

How many do they need? well, they put the revenue into the general tax revenue, so the answer would seem to be, "As many as we allow them".

Gatso & Truvelo flash from either gantry or stand alone
ANPR & Fixed speed infa red don't flash
As far as I'm aware , these are the only 4 cameras that opperate the M1
Also worth noting that if the fixed speed gantry lights are flashing , gatso & Truvelo will operate in accordance with speed restriction

There are way more than 4 cameras in the M1. Between 9 and 13 there are at least 6 or 7 (and that's just northbound). The one that is attached to the side gantry support (which OP is talking about) on the southbound carriageway was flashing like mad this morning...
