Interesting, there may still be a deal to be had here depending on what the damage was and the quality of repair as it is cheap and it doesn't sound like the price is firm.

The problem is a good type R is a sensible buy at the moment as the right car will most likely be depreciation free, but unfortunately this one will always be a hard sell. However as a base for a track car or someone who's after a deal now rather than a result on resale this would be worth further investigation!

At 3k that's a bargain. Decent amount in it for parts if nothing else. OP it may be worth going to look afterall!

Matty I'm sure you'll find one, didn't think that WRX was much of a bargain tbh, not with zero history and that oil leak.

Agree, I don't think it was the bargain everyone made out it was. It was the right money imo.

Cheers, was going to see it today (5 Hour round trip minimum)

I wouldn't have been to bothered if it was CAT C and no chassis damage at that price.

He told me 3rd gear was just a bit syncro mesh crunchy

Oh well, better to have found out now than later.

Lol nice!! What were the other bits that weren't as described? To be fair we all know the 5 speed gearboxes can be a weak point so not necessarily a bad thing buying one with a tired box and getting a deal than buying one that's OK but lets go a few months later..

If there isn't anything else seriously wrong it still maybe worth a cheeky offer, say 2.5k, and future proof it with a 6 speed straight away or break it!

If it comes at 2.5K its still a cheap car even with a broken box.
