Default Fuel door sign in STI, dosn't equat to the book!!

Hi folks.

I know this is a kind of immaterial thing, but having just got my first subaru wrx sti 04 plate, i thought i would check what everything means.

In the owners manual it states that none sti models say 'FUEL DOOR >' whereas sti models are a fuel pump symbol.

Now mine is the sti model but states the wording !!!!!!

Does anyone know why that would be ??

I hate things that don't add up

Mine says Fuel Door > as well. What are you worried about exactly?

Best to refer to a car with the MY, version numbers don't really work.

This is what i have riiidaa

Thanks for the Utube link mate.

ArkynseiNot particularly worried about anything . but having changed the display on my vectra:

it might have been possible that this was the wrong one for an STI. Especially as it contradicts that stated in the owners manual !!, and if so, i was wondering what the correct one looked like in order to correct.

Hawkeye... i couldn't agree with you more. The only time i've seen a gauge lower so quick, was a Corvette i had some time back.

Urban... MY !! Month / Year ??.
Not been able to find anything on net that simply breaks down the difference in version numbers. So guess it can't be too relevant as you say.

Thanks for the input so far guys.

As long as you don't flick the boot release and fill the spare wheel well with fuel, I think you'll be okay TBH

pmsl as i did release the boot rather than fuel cap at the garage yesterday.
But i didn't go so far as to b stupid enough to fill the boot up. Just took me a min to realise as cap was still locked shut and the boot had hardly lifted. A small sctratch the head moment with witnesses unfortunately.

What a rodney.
