Default Inner wing induction recommendations please

I had my car mapped with a billet 321t but did not crack 400bhp, I'm currently using the standard airbox, but have been advised to fit a inner wing induction kit.

Hyperflow has been recommended but it seems they are quite difficult to get hold of.

I would like an induction kit that goes through the second hole, (dont know if they are all like that?
) allowing me to keep the snorkel (bit plastic triangle).

Also does the actual pipework affect airflow in any way? Would buying the japspeed kit and sticking a K&N filter be cost effecctive or is it a case of buy cheap buy twice?

Thanks guys

Hi mate I brought the simota cold air feed for my scooby the only problem I found is the rubber joiners they supply are a bit crap so I got hold of some samco blue joiners it looks a lot better and the don't perish :-)

Hi there

Personally I would don't go with any inner wing induction kits, best are RCM induction kits

There was an inner-wing kit on my car when I got it, I had it removed and a standard airbox/snorkel put back to keep everything stock, but the state of the cone filter that was on the end of the induction pipework was enough to put me off ever putting something similar back on the car - a rusty, muddy lump.

CS400 makes do with the standard airbox. If the filter is hidden in the inner wing you can't see the problems building up very easily.

Not really if you are looking,he running TMIC and air box plus I think OP running 2.5" exhaust

With FMIC and Induction kit he should be easy above 400bhp

They quoting 400bhp,but actually I've never seen any RR from CS400

Air box should support 400bhp,above that I would say can be restrictive and TMIC too can be restrictive too above 400bhp,unless you are running Chevron TMIC

is it easier for the turbo to grab more air with the shorter connecting pipe in the engine bay, presumably with airfeed ducting from the innerwing?

Hi Trev

We are not run or used on 2.1L any cold air feed, but on 2.35L we are run and not sure if this has made any impact on the power or not, hard to say,we are never run back to back tests

Thanks for the replies guys, the innerwing kit has been recommended by my mapper, current mods are as Jura stated, harvey ported headers, up pipe, md321t billet, samco induction hose, prodrive sports cat, scorpian 2.5 inch center section, tsl back box (plus 800cc injectors, panel filter).

The cel did come on the journey home after the map, for a camshaft position sensor but did not come on during the map, not sure if the failing sensor played a part in the low bhp figure, the made 391 lbft of torque though, which I understand is not too bad.

Ideally I'd like around 420 bhp, not too bothered about going above that, it may also be time to decat the car totally?

Is there a kit that puts the filter right behind the airbox in between the triangular intake allowing me to keep that to direct airflow?

You can still use the snorkel with induction kit, just need to make it a bit shorter ;-)
