only thing is that the price of the 2 items you need to buy are most probably dearer than filling the car up as normal then driving into a supermarket etc as most prices in service stations are higher
would be better if it was just a straight 5p per litre off instead of having to actually buy 2 items to save money

It's a con.
If your Scooby tank is 60 litres and it's absolutely empty the most you could save is £3.
The price of the sweets/drinks are going to be more or less that.
...........Nice try Shell.

Tesco do the same - spend £50 or more and get 5p off a litre.
Great, so you buy stuff you wouldn't normally buy in order to get above the £50 threshold just to save er... £3 if you fill up the tank with er.... £80's worth of petrol.
In fairness to Rob if you're spending it anyway, or if the extra stuff is useful then fine, no point in not benefitting.

For those of you that are going to out say 50L of fuel in your car. You'll pick up two packets of £1 sweets, so you actually pay 50p less, and get the sweets you technically paid for free!
I understand it's not the best deal, but for those that are brimming the rank, you'll save or get free sweets or drink, simples!
Rob!
