What do I need to look for on these . Never had one
Do these come with 2 pot cailpers . Also it's standard . My insurance said they don't come with an alarm etc is that rite
I have an 1990 escort rs turbo
Any help would help
Are these engines any good

Fifteen year old car:
Rot on the rear arches.
Rot on the cills,
Tired suspension.
Blue smoke.
Check it goes in and out of all gears smoothly.
Look at oil and water, should both be clean.
Some models get some clutch judder.
Tyres...older models can be fitted with utter cr@p that shouldn't be on a 1 litre Corsa
Brakes, the OE brakes on those cars weren't the best.
Seats and interior: likely to be tired with bad wear on driver's seat base and side squabs.
Is it standard? if not, what's been done, BY WHO and WAS IT MAPPED for the changes?
This last is vital. If the answer is no, walk away.

thought they had 4 pots on front and 1 pot sliders on rear and if car a uk turbo 2000 it should have a sigma alarm fitted and a chip in key for the imoblizer.. unless its been disconnected as they are rubbish and break a lot ...
other wise prettu much what was said priovous ...
my rear shocks and springs went and front top mounts ain,t cheap to replace evan in standard form ...
rear arches are a pain for rust ....you can buy front wings and cut the lip bit out and weld in your self for a cheap fix otherwise body shop and thats £150+ a corner ....
you need to ask about serviceing as needs oil every 6 mths depending on milage.. ask about rear dif oil and gearbox oil as this is def neglected and will cost a good £60+
if i new now i would have saved for a blobeye as classics the cheap ones need loads money spent ..
i,ve done these parts as all worn or broke ,front and rear anti roll bars ,drop links ,all rear bushes, boost pipes, water pipes, ,went for nearly new coilovers as suspenion needed replacing worked out for kybs and springs and sti top mounts over £500 that with me fitting ,then theres discs and pads ,,also radiators are prone to rot out ...
see my point a £1200+ impreza soon adds up to a £2.500+ bugeye ..
i gave the same advice to a mate he paid £1600 6mths ago and now his is worn out ,he added it up and resold it and saved for 2 to 3 mths got a blobeye with a bloody good spec for 3k

As above.
Should have:
Updated (white dials) dash with electronic speedo/odo.
Updated seats.
Updated front, but NOT crystal lights.
No alarm, but chip in key.
Two pot front, single slider rear brakes.
No rear wash-wipe.
Standard Stereo was Philips with part of the front removable for security, radio-cassette.
Updated 16" wheels.
Aeriel in front pillar driver's side.
I've owned mine since September 1998.
