Cool

Having awaited the day when someone in a vehicle other than a Nova or BMW would try it on, I was appeased yesterday when a G-Reg (OK not exactly a 02 Turbo!) Carrera 2 tried it on.

Coming onto a motorway at legal speeds (of course ) I blasted past him. With his girlfriend on board he didn't look to chuffed.

We then had to slow whilst a 7 Series pulled out of the fast lane doing a heady 60, and again he dissappeared in my rear view mirror once the road was clear.

I'm NOT condoning driving fast because I don't do that , but it is nice to open the car up once in a while and show a supposedly "superior" bit of German enginering what its'a all about.

Oh the joys

whats the difference between you 'dusting a porker' and a young lad in his Nova having a go at a scoob ?

Not wanting to sound like a **** but everybody has a go about the boy racers ( which I agree some are down right dangerous ) but its no different to any of us with scoobs having a pop at a Carrera etc.

oh yeh I dusted one too on the motorway a couple of months ago - was well chuffed to see his face especially when I got out the Mr Pledge !!!

There is nothing wrong with opening the car up. It is the public braggin about racing that is out of order. Perhaps he had more sense, bearing in mind he had his girlfriend with him. Perhaps her safety (and his license|) comes before his *****. It was not until I got a 911 that I realised you don't actually have to race people to prove the size of your trouser snake.

Very sad.

Surely a 3.6 carrera 4 will mince a scooby ? I thought they were about 280 BHP ? and 0-60 there would be nothing in it ?

Knew I'd need my flame suit for this thread

He was the one ahead of me who booted it past a 3.0L Z3 as we came onto the m'way. Just don't think he was expecting the Scoob to then see him off. He was trying alright and the safety of his girlfriend?? We are talking straight line, no cars near us when driving "quickly"!

I enjoy the car. I don't try to overtake people through High Streets or during rush hour on Oxford Street.

And judging by the look on his face, the duster might as well have been covered in bird **** :S

FYI last check on the rollers - 307 bhp at 22 degrees centigrade

I went from a 3.0 Carrera to a GT4 WRC to a WRX Type RA. Then a regrettable stint in an MR2 and back to a Subaru B4 RSK and then a WRX STi. You can't beat a Subaru for repeatability and reliability when compared to a Porker. But I know which one I got more ***** in.

OK, not dessimated him...

But, standard STi 0-60 times with 280 bhp is what, 4.6 secs??

I have 30bhp over that so a 0-60 run would be 4.4/4.5 sec? (Torque is at 270 I think?).

And we weren't exactly drivin gat 174 mph!!

Oh, I'm getting plenty of ******** right now anyway if you must know Not tarting around in my Porsche trying to pick up anything in a skirt

Kingsize,
It's been said but i've driven a modded scoob (STI 5 type R) and i regularly drive a new C2 and once on the move and esp. at m-way speeds if said porka driver had wanted too he would have been gone, long gone !!

And the fekker could sell it and buy two scoobs and two evo's to work which one he likes best !!

Some people have all the toy's, whilst i'm just lucky enough to be allowed to play with them once in a while !!

I don't see anything wrong with this little hearted jostle provided it was safe to do so. Nothing wrong with playing with a stronger or weaker car. Would it be any fun if you only ever played with equivilent cars? I remember once racing my brother off the lights in the VTS and he was driving my mums 1.0l polo - 0-60 in 18 seconds It was side splittingly funny!

Phill - can't argue with that seeing as you've driven both! I would still give it a go though!

And as Saxo Boy commented, all in the name of simply having some fun whilst being safe

Oh, and proving my car is faster than anyone else's

Would you have posted if he had pissed on you?

Got creamed in my 22B the other day by a bloke in a souped up Nova. When will we see those posts?

Anyone going to admit to being stomped on by an Audi or a Mitsi?

Hands up everyone. Bar twisty bits and gold wheels.

I've been stomped on by a 1.6 Nova

Scoob was new, engine was tight, wasn't used to it. Came to a 2-lane section and not only did I miss the gearchange, but having finally slotted it in there were already over 6k revs on the clock (should have used fourth). By the time I'd sorted everything out there wasn't enough space left to overtake

Bet his mates down the pub didn't believe him

Kingsize,
No mate pls don't get me wrong i race (you know what i mean) porka's in me VR6 i get canned but i like to hear them, see them going some. Strange though i've overtaken them in a scoob and they don't seem to mind. If i do it in my slower VR6 then they get right upset and give it some, must something to do with it being a german car !!

Enjoy porka baiting and wait for the day you see a C4 turbos disapear like you selected reverse (thats what it does to the C2 !!) when at Autobhan speeds !!

Phill
