Default Just a quick question

I see most guys on here quote their cars' power fugures in bhp, which is fine, But it rarely states whether it's wheel power or crank power.

If it then states the car is 450bhp strong....is it commonly accepted that the person is referring to crank power or wheel power?

Unless otherwise stated, crank power. Certainly in the UK.

It's because, unsurprisingly, manufacturers quote the higher figure (crank), for obvious marketing reasons. So it naturally lends itself as the norm. to reference.

It's strange though really, because the figure which 'matters' is the reduced wheels power - as that's what goes down onto the road!
