Default Blobeye WRX Prices...

Is it just me or are some people asking way to much for 10 year old WRX blobs? ... I've seen them on here, ebay, autotrader etc. for 4, 5, even 6 grand but that's around STi money isn't it???

I know you wouldn't get a mint low mileage STi for that but If I had the money I know which I'd rather have.

you will struggle to get a blob sti for 4-5k infact you wont so 4k for a tidy blob wrx is not outrages just yet.

I'd say it depends on condition, service history, milage and mods, at the lower end of the scale £3k and £6k for a very tidy low milage blob Wrx with a few choice mods running 330/350bhp is not un-reasonable, I'd sooner have a mint WRX that wants for nothing than a high miler dog of an STI for £6k, because you can almost guarantee the STI will need lot's of money throwing at it, ie brakes, tyres, suspension, fluids, cambelt, and possibly a gearbox refresh, which will suck up the thick end of £3k in the blink of an eye, so something like a 2001/2004 STI on the cheap that ends up standing you at £9k with circa 100k on the clock.

What looks like a bargain can very quickly become a bottomless money pit.

Oh I know you wouldn't get an STi for 4k lol ... what I mean is the price gap between a wrx compared to a wrx sti is not a lot and in some cases just a few hundred pounds.

If you can afford an sti then buy one but some folk just can't so they plump for a wrx and tweek it over time far easier to manage the money that way if on a tight budget.

don't worry Ste I had same issues when looking for mine, far to many people asking around £5k for a wrx that's done 90k + miles, seems abit crazy

I can't afford an STi but If I had 5-6k I'd rather have an STi over a standard WRX that people have for sale around the same price.

Some peoples opinion on price is way off the mark, One guy wanting £5000 for a 130k mile 53 plate blob... erm yeah okay fella!

Fully forged engine, rebuilt box and diff and with brembos - yours is worth that mate but when people are trying to charge that money for a standard 100k miler it's a bit of a joke.

I just got 03 wrx, 72k 1 owner for £4800. It took 3 months to find and test drove 3 others!! Good luck in finding the one for you, just don't rush into anything is my advice!!!

Quite a bit more than I would have paid but to get a 1 owner one with lowish mileage is good

I'm not in any real rush as we've got another car but need my scooby fix and there is only one model / shape / colour that will do it lol

Sold my blob wagon 55 plate with nice mods running 330hp vf34, rota's, milltek, brembos etc around 80k. Nice and clean example.
Sold for 4.5k no probs had other buyers at that price too (wanted over 5k originally but then reduced) about 6 months ago.
