I believe the units are coded to the vin number of of your car so if you were to transfer it to another Subaru it would not work unless the dealer re-codes it to the new vin of that car.

So how do you get to the code screen or is it a dealer only job
Or is it coded to the ecu as the problem has only happened after having a
syvecs ecu fitted ?

Coded to the ecu it has a can bus link fitted for security reasons. I'm afraid if you've deviated from the factory ecu you've had it. It will not decode

Not unless the syvecs can tell the stereo that it's ok..

All the can bus does is let 1 or 2 wires do what lots of wires used to do in the loom, it looks like I have a problem with the low canbus as the cruise control does not work ether so will have a look tomorrow and contact the syvecs fitter and see whet he thinks
Phil
