Default gearbox overfilled

I have a 6 spd box, and recently bought some millers crx 75w90 from Alyn at as performance, for the last 10 days everytime i jacked the car up, as soon as I put axle stands on it started raining.

Ended up taking the car to a garage in glasgow that apparantely has a good rep, checked the level five mins ago, and its WAY over the full line

Im wondering if they put the whole five litres in! Is this damaging to the gearbox?

To make matters worse the idiot parked my car over the kerb with about 3mm between the splitter and kerb, then left it in gear! Lucky I always checks its in neautral before starting. Definately wont be going back there again.

Ring them up and ask how much oil they put in it,
Its not a big job to pull or drain some out.

Just phoned and they were engaged, will try again in a few minutes, will it damage the gearbox though, having it overfilled this much?

If you bought the oil did they not give you the left overs back and getting wet for half hour while you take fill plug out is a no brainer for peace of mind

If it's over filled you won't get water in as the oil will pour out when it just trickles put plug the plug back

lol I meant each time I started the job, it would start raining, didnt want to end up with no oil in the box, then as Im filling it, for the rain to mix with the oil while its going into the box

AFAIK, it might be different on scoobies, but someone should be able to correct me.

The drain hole they are reffering to doesnt drain the whole GBOX, it is just a level indicator at the top of the box, so you unbolt it,c ollect the oil which sets the level and then put the bolt back in, it only drains excess oil

I reckon there's a good chance they only drained from the bottom of the front diff. There's another drain plug in the small sump at the base of the gearbox itself, covered by a plastic undershield. If you don't know scoobies it's easy to miss.
Ask them if they drained from both drain points.

+1 on above, bite the bullet drain it completely from both plugs and refill with new oil.
