Default Final Remap on my v3 type r

Planning on going to Santa pod on Saturday for a RWYB event with a few friends. Thought I had better get the car mapped fully after changing a few bits and give a general check over as it's been off road for 2 months with moving house.

Guttered with the rain today so couldn't see what it went like properly on the way home but over the moon with the results got

445.9 HP and 412.2 FtLb.

That was just on v-Power Matty and on standard headers, would not of believed it myself if I was not there.
Really good results Mark, I've got a bit of catching up to do now.

Not sure I believe 445 is an accurate reading on straight vpower and 20g. Is it billet ??

Stop being so diplomatic Matt! I smell bull****. Especially as Area 52s dyno under reads. I'd like to see what it makes on another dyno.

Lol.... sorry chap.

Ok, theres no chance as long as I have a hole in my **** that a non billet 20G ran almost 450bhp on straight vpower.

It does sound unbelievable. Harvey told me some of his special 20Gs had made 420 on VPower but it's not the norm. I think evryone knows the Area52 RR gives low figures too, but why would the guy lie?

Dyno figures can vary hugely, the operator has a large influence too. I don't think the chap is lieing but if I was him I'd take the car to another well known dyno for a second shot.
Who knows, he could own that miracle car and it is indeed that power.
But for an example, mr forrests very own 20g equipped car only managed 440 and that was with a tank full of additives.
My old car, which had a pretty tidy spec, did just 385 with a ported AF 20G and vpower.

I've known of instances where Area 52 dyno has under read by 30 bhp compared to another. If you add that to the figure the OP got then it's in the region of 475 bhp!

I personally don't trust dyno figures anyway, they are never bloody accurate.
I remember one chap had zen fit and map in a front mount. Car came in running 340 from srr. After installing the cooler and mapping at rcm the car made something like 325. The lad drove (the same day) to srr and had it run again. Car made 350.

Imagine if he threw some meth in as well then, car would be a 500+ 20G equipped car....

We did actually run it on meth later, but I'll leave them figures for now.

Not having a dig at you but I'd get the car on another set of rollers. Banter aside 445 does seem optimistic for your spec.

Who cares about figures, any classic with your spec is a bloody hoot to drive. As long as it makes you grin like a Cheshire cat then good for you.
Plus, a dyno plot with 445 at the top will help come sale time to someone other than us..lol..

But come on, put us out of our misery. What did it pull on a meth mix ??

Alot of it comes down to the driver and the maintenence. My standard V3 five speed gave up at under 350 ponies, but at over 400 my later V6 five speed coped fine. Regular oil changes using good quality oil and a degree of mechanical sympathy help massively.

My V3 STI box was fine at 407. I did uprate to a 6 speed eventually, but the box is still fine in my mates car & I drove it hard for a year but no launches as I didn't want to push my luck too far.

Apparently area52 dyno reads approx 6% lower than scoobyclinic and is about on par with rcm's
