Default Hi i am new

Hello guys & gals I am new on the forum and I recently sold my ST205 celica GT4 WRC and would now like to buy a cheap impreza turbo, my budget isn't huge but have always wanted to be a impreza driver.
I would rather not have an estate car but am interested in anything to offer.

I thought looking on the forum would be the best way to find good examples of this car.

Thank you

Karl

Hi Karl.

Welcome along mate.

As with anything you get the best your money can buy, but scoobies being scoobies you can always split the cash between purchase and mods (and then consider bank robbery as a second career once you go power and handling mad ).

What's your rough budget?

Also depends if you're interested in the 90s to early 2000s "classic" cars, early to mid 2000s "newage" or the latest hatchback model.

Plenty of fantastic cars out there, will always be a car that meets your need and budget

well I am not entirely sure
I was looking for one under 2k really I know that is not huge I mean my gt4 I got for 900 then ending up spending about 4k on it so I know the deal with modifications, so that's it really, I dunno even if you can get a reasonable impreza for that sort of money

cheers

Hmmm £2k.

Truth be told I think you'll need to throw up to another grand at an Impreza to get something decent.

For around £2.5k you'll be looking at a reasonable condition classic STi, and maybe a decent newage WRX.

I would go for the classic STi on that budget and throw a few choice mods at it - with 300bhp, a set of coilovers and some decent brakes those things are quite formidable!

I came from a gt4, even in standard form the impreza is so much more of a car
You'll love it :-)

I agree, although if you (op) are happy with modding etc. then you could probably find a reasonable one for about 2k and steadily upgrade as time goes by.

However, as TNG might be implying (well I'm saying in any case), the lower you go the closer you get to shed territory.

When you see one post up a link.
Loads of people will give their helpful views, such as what to look out for.

Yeah last thing you want to do is throw two grand at a dog with an SSS (Swap Shop Special) performance pack that chews a main bearing a month after you buy it because the oil was last changed when the seller had milk teeth.

Find a regularly serviced car that needs a little TLC if the budget is tight but don't go for a dog and think it'll be quickly fixed!

welcome, here you go buddy and well under budget too.

Ok scratch the first one as they are already fighting over it.

This one is a bit over your budget but looks good except for the bonnet, which is carbon and worth a few quid, i'd fit an original and sell it on, you'll easily get 200 quid for it off some mug, maybe even £300+ so with a bit of bargaining it could work out very close to your budget.

Also consider that engine failures on new purchases are common.
It's a combination of unknown history and the new owner having a bit of fun.
So, can you afford the £2k rebuild if the engine does go pop??
