Most of these scams are copies of real adverts with a much cheaper price. So showing the real number plate is normal. Some people won't hpi it and think they are getting a bargain and what would the hpi show up if the car is bought and paid for and not an insurance write off ?

So many under priced cars on this site, usually no direct phone number and very impersonal adverts, as above ^^ most seem to be real adverts from other sites that have been re-used, job websites and dating sites do the same thing maybe to bump up site hits? More hits the more they can charge for advertising

ran a quick google image search - and look what i found. seems this STI hatch has been for sale for 14k at Deejaymotorsales.co.uk

It isn't listed anymore, but the original ad is still saved in google cache: http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&ct=clnk&gl=at

Would you buy a car for 14 k and sell it for 6k only weeks later? ;-)

I'm genuinely curious as to what a scam of this nature could possibly do to benefit somebody? Nobody is going to paypal £6k for a car they've never seen before in the hope it's the bargain of a lifetime
