Default JDM Hawkeye impreza sti vs evo 9 FQ360

Hi

Guys

Looking at these 2 cars priced very similar etc (jdm hawkeye impreza sti 2.0 or UK FQ 360 evo 9)

Don't know which to go for? What would your suggestions be? Would be good to hear from members who have driven both.

Will be used as a daily drive not many trackdays

p.s both cars are running 360 bhp

Kind Regards

Owned both marques in all different models/years and personally I think the JDM hawk would walk all over the Evo 9 FQ360 in a straight line, throw in some corners and the Evo would walk all over the STi JDM, The Evo is really good in the handling department, much better then any Subaru i have owned/driven/been in.

If I had to choose between the two cars it would have to be the JDM hawk, but if it was a Evo 9 GT instead of the FQ360 then id have the 9 GT!!
Evo 9 GT is a much better car then any of the FQ range a bit like comparing a UK Hawk with a spec c hawk, The Spec C hawk is a much more focused and a proper drivers car which is what the Evo 9 GT is too.

Some of the above feedback is highly subjective imo.

As an all round package, taking in to account the drive, reliability and tuneability with the stock engine and transmission, I would suggest the Hawkeye is a better bet. However, with cars an element of "emotion" normally plays a part, so the saying of "whatever floats your boat" may also come in to it.

As a car they are much a muchness in many ways.

Scooby Forum, the biased and emotional view will be the Subaru. Having been wazzed about in a Hawk Spec C RA I think I know my choice .

to live with as a daily driver that will be more comfortable on long motorway trips etc, the hawkeye (but a JDM one) taking into account servicing costs, reliability, cost to repairs etc..but the Evo GT would walk all over the Hawk in both a straight line and corners unfortunately, but at a higher premium to keep going. Been there, done that

Both cars aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I have a mate who has owned both, he prefers the FQ360 but then he has the money and knowledge to get it serviced every 4 months

I had a jdm blob sti and currently have an evo9 gt. both great cars but drive so different.. I didn't think they would but they do... The spool on the gt is so much quicker than my blob...

As said, I think you need to try both. I don't think either would disappoint you. But they are different beasts.....my scoob had an lm450 and the gt is running about 470 so not that much difference in overall power.

Driven both over the years. Jdm hawk all the way for me although i have mentioned this to pals in the past and they seem to disagree. Have to agree with a comment ealier about them being very different cars so drive both and make your mind up from there. But if you do go onto the darkside we don't want to see or hear from you again on this forum
