Hi All

ever since 9 months ago when ScoobyNet 2 started I have been meaning to change the temporary buttons I'd put up for the reply and new topic links (because I accept they really did suck! )

Finally got round to it..

If you don't like them, I'll try something else.

What's the verdict? (I will not be offended )

Cheers

Simon

Very nice. Just curious - do you have to get the okay from STi or whoever if you want to use their logo on a website?

Nice one Simon, do you have to pour Millers down the back of the server now or do the buttons run on standard 240V . Will we have to remap our keyboards.

They look cool m8

Seems quicker since you put them on......

But it seems to work less often too

You're bound to get some people complaining that the old UK buttons were better than these import ones

Question

Not sure about them. The carbon fibre effect looks fake, and blurs the text a little too much. What about a sonic blue, background with the text in the same font as 'sti'?

Can't we have a "gold" reply button. The PSL would only originate topics

I think they're fine,CF effect doesn't quite work but why worry

Youre right they ARE imports!!

Get them out of here immediately!!

If they turn GOLD then I MIGHT never be able to press them - hence NEVER post again!!

Result, or what?

IMHO the originals were better - keep the "corporate" theme running through the site. Also come they seem to come out at low res & provide a less professional button.

IMHO

Thanks for all the feedback chaps.

Lee.. size in KB isn't THAT important as they are cached by most people anyway.

---

OK..
Looks like we're fairly split so far...

If you *don't* like them, could you suggest a concept or idea for a different one? No worries if you can't think of one, (please don't let that stop people saying they don't like one, just because you can't think of an alternative) I'll just try to think something else up.

Keep the opinions coming, they only took me about 10 hours to do!!!!! LOL

Cheers

Cool

I quite like them but I think that the carbon fibre effect makes the orange writing seem a bit blurred. An black (or other suitable colour) outline around the orange writing would make it look clearer.

Just need to add a thin black stroke around the letters to make them stand out more or tone the Carbon layer down slightly. Also optimise them a bit - Lee is right, 10k is some size just for a static button.

Other than that, nice, well done Si

How about bringing the Scoobynet logo more up-to-date? Or is there a story behind the crescent moon thing?

I agree with DW here, the Scoobynet logo needs an update, unless there's a reason behind it.

I agree with PTMW.

How about this: make the buttons in the same font as the Scoobynet logo? That, IMHO, would look more professional.

SDB - I don't really have an opinion. A button is there when I need one. If you are looking for a different theme for all the people who can't live with these or the old ones you could try something like an ignition switch and key (new topic - start etc) and gear change for reply. STOP PRESS Now that I've seen this on the screen I think I may have had a beer too many

Quick Reply: New buttons... it's up to you! :-)
