Best roads in UK
#1
I have a friends kit car to use this weekend and next weekend. I need to put as many miles on it as possible before the trip to Le Mans. Where would you take your dream car purely for the pleasure of driving? The bad news is it does 10mpg (at best) the good news is its 539 BHP. I am based around Birmingham and want to avoid the expense of driving to scotland. If I could have the number of the roads I will try and sort a route.

Its only a few miles long, but the A507 from Baldock (in Hertfordshire) to Buntingford is top notch (all twisty and dips)
From there, the A120 to Colchester is a nice drive too.
Not too far from you, i suppose?
Nick.

Yup, join up with the Evo folks.
B4501 from Cerrigydrudion on the A5 up to the A453 and then use the A543 back to the A5.
Utterly awesome!

If you can, take it to Brecon, South Wales.
I used to travel between brecon (where I lived) and Birmingham (where my parents live) regularly, it takes about 2 hours....but it is soooo worth the journey!! It is where they take cars to test drive the, for mags etc.
I would recommend you stick it on a trailer and visit the Big Country )

North Wales.
From Rhayadar take the mountain pass road to Devil's Bridge - it's a cracker!!
Then head for Machynlleth north to Dolgellau and into Snowdonia.
Try and pick up the A498 running south of Snowdon - a brilliant road, and join the A4086 back towards Capel Curig.
You won't regret it

1)
B606 Bedford to somewhere in East Anglia about 45 miles away: English Nurburgring.
2)
Any road in Scottish highlands outside of the tourist season.
Wales is good but when you want lunch or a **** you might have to interact with the Welsh.

The A660 near Kimbolton ( Cambs ) is well worth a look. Also you could pick up the A645 to Higham Ferris ( it got a downhill straight, at least 1/1.5 miles long with no cameras ) Just watch out for a very yellow Porche 911 turbo he's F***ing quick

Careful on the A507 - blocked yet again this morning by another accident
Used by lots of artics & this encourages overtaking in dangerous circumstances.
Can be badly affected by standing water after heavy rainfall too.
But...when the weather is dry and there's little traffic...
