Whats the scam here?
I am selling my wrx blobeye on Pistonheads and was contacted by a man via pistonheads and hence to my email asking if it was still for sale. I replied that it was and he then asked if he could pay via paypal and arrange collection when the money had been transferred as he was an oceanographer and had no access to the phone etc. Co incidentally he was in a rush as it was his dads birthday present, it didn't matter if it needed any fixing (the cheek of it!) etc etc. I replied that as an oceanographer he should recognise the smell of fish as I did and it was coming from his email. I have heard nothing since. Obviously a scam but how does it work with regard to the paypal transfer?

As usual with these things the email did nt read right, the English was a bit off and the explanation about ebay a bit too fluent, like it had been copied and pasted from ebay. Anyway sadly he has not replied now.

I sold my WRX on PH and got 8-10 different email with the same...I work Offshore... I work on a rig...I work Polish cafe in...last one made up, sorry
Probably some cee u next tuesday in Manchester! No disrespect to M postcode intended
If they are real, ask for a phone number as most scammers hide behind the email!
You can always get someone to look at the source code of the email for IP origination (see were email was sent from)
