This block is power limited by the casting itself! The internal combo is good to well into the 800hp range.

so whats the limited of the block..... lol

Reliable, 800bhp and 2.5L are bollocks in the Subaru world.

Ok, let me come clean here. I am firmly in the non believer camp. This is currently being debated on the RB320 facebook page and most are non believers. A couple though seem to think this is true so i thought i would post the question here to gather thoughts.
I cant see how they can claim any of the parts are up to that power level unless they are actually running a car with that power.

I think you're missing the point that others will be alluding to.

I would suggest the claim about the internal parts "being up to the job" isn't impossible...... the block casing integrity is!

The advert only remarks on the internal capability (which have probably been proven in other set-ups). There is zero mention of any capability of the block with the inserts.... that is the problem.

Still has the OE liners in place, there the limit, your only upgrading the bore top / head gasket integrity, even with the cryo treatment it does'nt upgrade enough to last long.

That was my argument Paul, but the bloke i'm debating insists the americans are getting such power claims on standard liners . Thats why i posted the question and link here in the hopes engine builders such as yourself would chirp in with your knowledge.

Is there such a thing as a 'reliable 800bhp' on a road car?

The Americans are crazy, I saw that Crawford sell a 2.6 / 2.7 / 2.8 stroker for the EJ25.

I suspect you'd probably be able to read newspaper the walls of the 2.8 block
