I admire the 'honest sell' bit but £1,500 for a 1994 car with issues (and potential ones?) is a bit much imo.
I paid only £1,800 for a 1995 one 3 years ago, and it was a perfect runner.
As far as breaking goes, I'd have said £1,500 is possible BUT:
* that's almost everything that could be sold being sold at a reasonable price;
* there's all the hassle with bits and pieces laying about (plus disposal of the shell etc); and
* how long would it take to get rid of all the bits?
On the other hand, if it costs you something 'daft' like only £100 or so to sort out then you're laughing.

providing you have time and space you should get your money back no problem, it's amazing how it all adds up when breaking a car, i'd expect you'll make profit in the end.
To give you an example i had a citroen c2 gt a little while ago, which i eventually gave up on, it was either try to sell it with a running fault and no MOT, which i'd have been lucky to get 2k for, or break it, in the end i broke it, but not fully, i sold the brakes/exhaust and interior separately and then sold the rest as a rolling car with engine, i got 3k for it all said and done, and i expect if i'd broke it completely 4k would have been on the cards.
