Fair enough - point to note though I'd pay give it more of a look with receipts from someone like AS than a main dealer - at least AS know what they are on about and I'd know you had the best advice out there buy specialists who know what they are on about rather than "fitters"

I agree completely, but in this case the vehicle is under warranty still and i'd prefer to reduce any risk of complication on the event I return it to the dealership in the future.

Ah !
Thanks
I half suspected that but it seems strange that in theory you could have Back Street Bodger bu&&er up your car by misfitting genuine parts and the warranty will cough up but third party parts fitted by a main dealer won't be covered.
Back to the op - I can understand the wish to minimise any potential problems with the warranty but I wonder if there would come a point where the premium you pay by going via main dealer (plus warranty costs, if any) would exceed the cost of putting something right.
However, that's the theory of insurance I suppose, a cost worth bearing just for peace of mind.
Thanks

Yeah I know what you mean. The Warranty I guess though is to cover a failure with the parts (or the design of how they fit together/interact with other parts), if they can prove beyond doubt that something has failed because it was poorly fitted, then the claim will be out of the door.
If it is an OE part but breaks from being faulty/defective then the Warranty should cover it?
If it's an OE part, in OE packaging, is receipted, is fitted by a VAT registered garage, to the manufacturers instructions then the Warranty should also be upheld. And on anthoer point, many OE parts are not Subaru either, Denso, Bosch etc all supply parts to manufacturers. But if it is poorly fitted then the garage/main dealer is at fault.

I just bought a genuine subaru gasket on ebay from a company called Advanced auto performance parts in Bristol.
The gasket is the only business i've done with them but i had no issues at all.

Iirc they have a very good reputation.
I got their name from a thread on here when I was considering using them for an upgrade if or when I bought one that I'd mod.
The thread was about parts sales.
Although I didn't in the end have need of their services they were very prompt replying to emails and return phone calls.

Sorry but I am struggling to understand where the OP is going with this one. We all know that many quality aftermarket parts have higher tolerances, build spec's and finish than the mass produced stuff. To obsess that much is a bit strange.

I'm not really sure why you're confused; the thread was simply asking for recommendations on Subaru dealerships who offer a mail order service by email/phone. There appear to be lots of assumptions going on in this thread.

Yeah I think we are all confused by the ops intentions
Maybe he just wants to stockpile all the parts in guinine subaru plastic bags and boxes labelled on a shelf for the future
Wish I had done that with parts from my Yamaha FS1E 30 years ago
They are worth a fortune now
(speedo at £15 over £200 now as unused )
Never mind as the op requested
Stan palmers at Carlisle Gary and rob are the best dealers in the uk and will sort your out on parts and prices too

What I'm bemused about is why this thread hasn't deviated into a discussion on logistics, recollections of poor service and complaints etc. etc.
I think the op's got away lightly
Anyway, there looks to be plenty of recommendations to choose from, so hopefully job done.
