I'm test driving an Impreza P1 on Saturday and I was wondering if anybody had any experience driving or owning one. How good are they. What's the build quality like? what should I look out for? It's had the AP racing 6 pot conversion done. 23k 18000 miles on a 2000 plate. It's from reg vardy in Sunderland from their Ferrari garage. Spoke to the sales manager an he said it handled better than the 360 modena he drives to work and back. He also said it can just about keep up in straight line, but he would say that . It's very tempting but the CTR would have to go and I don't think I could part with it.

I've owned a P1 for the last 6 months and have never regretted it. Only problems I've experienced are squeaky brakes and clutch judder. You should have around 1 year left on a 3 year warranty with Subaru though incase anything falls apart.

Build quality of the car is sound. Interior rattles and squeaks abit but that's Japanese for you. You'll not hear it though if you do what I did and get a full system de-cat HKS Hiper exhaust

We had a MY01, and when we went to test drive a P1, didn't think that it could be that much different/faster. However, the difference is amazing. We've had ours for 7 months and still grin every time we drive it! To date, have had no probs, and it really is a joy to own.
What do you have at the moment?

Oh dear...the slippery slope to P1 ownership....

You'll love it - and if you don't I'll want to know why!

My brakes dont squeak DS2500 pads in OE 4 pots. Not cheap but awesome feel with the goodridge hoses as well.

I drive a Honda Civic Type R. It's a Fantastic car, but I want to make the next step up to rally bred monster. The P1 will have to be somthing special for me to part with the Honda. I've spoke to a number of lads on the Honda R forum and they said I would be mad not to buy it. Can't wait till Saturday.

The car is fantastic. enough said......

however, if you break it expect a long wait to get it fixed, many parts have to shipped from Japan. Im currently 9 weeks into a 12 week engine rebuild.
