Yes, in my experience it requires work to get it to do what I want it to do.
The wastegate hole is too small causing awful boost creep. Turbo Dynamics recently sorted this for one of my customers allowing us to run a flat 1 bar if we want to, prior to this mod at 6500rpm the lowest boost you could have at WOT was 1.6 bar.

People say it's a 500bhp on pump fuel turbo, but again in my experience that isn't the case.
Nothing wrong with what it does produce though, 460bhp and 480lbft on the last 2.5 I did and over 500 of each on a meth mix.
Spool is very good for a turbo of this size !

And your problem with 1.6 bar is what exactly.

It's a common error with some of these hybrids, in the quest to make power, they forget the subtleties like really good boost control at both ends.

As Martyn says 460bho at around 1.6 sounds about right , mine was running slightly more torque at over 500ftlbs ,, understand tho , this turbo requires a larger inlet pipe , the standard Maf is on its very limit at that point , compensation was required by using a perrin Big Maf side by side with ecutek 800cc injectors
They work well together , some stories about the Big Maf not been up to the job
Then there is your pipe work
As a standard location turbo perrin or HDI are the only front mounts I would use on that set up

Personal experience tho
The turbo pulls well , fits nicely & neatly , & does the job well for a road goin 2.5

We have run T on our 2.1L and this turbo has been awesome on the 2.1L,490bhp/480lb-ft on V-power and 20% methanol,452bhp/440lb-ft on V-power alone

We are run T on the Japspeed FMIC and GT Spec headers with the standard 3 bolt up pipe,Billet T has have standard size inlet pipe and performed nicely

Yes I would say yes is possible make on T 500bhp,as on our one we have just JDM WRX AVCS heads and with better heads we should be easy at 500bhp,this option we are never tried plus wagon never been on RR with NOS(NOS has been mapped on the road),I would suspect wagon will make with T and NOS 500bhp

We have right now few problems with restriction,no engine problems just we need to know what causing this restriction plus we are adding few more bits

Wagon should be mapped next week if everything will go like is planned

No drinking, just faster typing than reading

With V you should be able to make nice numbers,i would suspect 480bhp on V-power and above 500bhp on meth

You will be running still OE ECU or you are going with aftermarket ECU(Alcatek or Syvecs)?
