Default Thought i'd make her a little lighter

Decided to strip the boot. The spare wheel is pointless because i have big brakes all round. Also a good excuse to clean it out.

I think by law you have to carry a spare wheel or a tyre repair kit.

So just make sure you have a pump and patch up kit.

I have a small electric one and repair kit for both of my cars. I removed my spare wheel for the same reason as you, it won't fit over my 365mm APs lol.

Done similar to mine although I've left the spare as I have an oversize space saver that clears my Brembos. I've also relocated the battery into the boot

Next job is to remove the sound deadening on the floor, remove the spare wheel well and weld a plate over it and then paint it all

The biggest job will be the welding as I'll need to include some brackets for my rear diffuser which I'll probably weld onto the new floor plan, the rest is quite simple but will take time

Copied from the AA website

Spare tyre
You don't have to carry a spare and it does not have to comply with the legal requirements while it is stowed away. However, when fitted to the vehicle (for example, following a puncture) it must then comply with the law. The spare is not tested in the MOT but the examiner may draw your attention to an unserviceable item as a matter of courtesy.

Thanks bud, at least I know for sure now too.

Still better to have something I think, and a damn site better to have one of those small kits to a hefty great spare wheel that won't even fit over my front brakes (and soon rears too) anyway.
