Default The trials and tribulations of turbos

Known faults with engines, problems after 'mapping', forging, huge (improbable?) power outputs etc. etc.

We've seen many threads on here.

But we are not alone: Life on another side

And to think my daughter went and bought one.......

I used to own a mapped corsa VXR, absolutely cracking motor and very capable. Sold it on over a year ago, the guy says it hasn't missed a beat! I'm fairly sure a good map, along with regular servicing, not ragging it, proper cool up / cool down procedures etc would help to prolong engine life

I think it's probably the ragging it that does a lot of the damage (possibly poor mapping aswell, mid point garage pmsl)

I went to rockingham on the vxr power events last year and the first track session 2 corsas went pop in a 20 minute session

It's the same as corsa the m32 chocolate gearbox

This was my missus car before we got the sti very rare meriva vxr same engine as a corsa vxr (slightly de-tuned) and the m32 6 speed.

Was a fun little car the look on the faces of some people when the get done at the lights by a bird driving a mpv is priceless
