Back, in a Classic. V5 STi this time
Picked it up just before the weekend. Nice clean example. Had some spray work done on the front end that's ok, but not perfect. Bar an exhaust, that's far too loud, its an original example. Need to remove the silly STi badges off the grill and the matching one on the rear.
Anyone know if its been owned by anyone on here before? Trying to find details of why it was sprayed, might have had a small front end knock or just a general tidy up. Also should I have a plaque on the passenger strut or is that just the Type R's, more special Sti's? It looks like one used to be there but just two rivet holes left.
Loving the pace and how tight the whole car feels. Need to learn not to bang my head on the boot (Used to wagons) but I'm loving owning it.

Thanks both
Its a real standard example, no pillar gauges, mushroom filters or dump valves, even the indicators are still orange I quite like the standard wheels, they've had a refurb in a slightly off original gold. Just had a lick of paint that I'd love to be able to explain. Looks like a blow over as only the outside of the front end was painted, you can feel the lip of paint on the wings where they didn't paint in where the wing bolts to the car and the bonnet shuts.

If everything looks straight/original behind the bumper I wouldn't be worried more than likely just a blow over to cover age related marks, stone chips etc

That's my theory too and why I went ahead and purchased it. Looks straight and no obvious accident damage. I HPi checked it to be sure too.
Last 12 months its had clutch, disks+pads and cam belt with pulleys.
So at last, after being on here for 13 years I finally purchased the Classic I always wanted. Took me a while to save up

The Vin plate is there and matches reg etc, I'm not that dumb
Its just I thought I remember reading all Sti's had a plaque stating the production number but wasn't sure if I was just getting muddled with the more special editions like the Type R's etc.

I thought you were on about the plaque with the gearbox code etc on which is usually on the strut top on pass side( mine has this but its a new age not sure on classic), or is all that on the actual vin plate which yours has?

Then in my opening post I may have been slightly wrong. Sorry for the confusion.
