Yeah, i agree.
You only really find out how good they are when you make a claim. A few years ago i was with Esure which is ranked quite low in this article. I had a no fault accident where a woman reversed into my parked car. Esure handled it very quickly, they got my car fixed and got me a nice loan car (alfa 159). I did however have to chase them to re-install my full NCD once they had been fully reimbursed by the woman's ins company. But that was only one phone call and it was rectified.
I'm now with Aviva who i find very easy to deal with, especially in declaring non standard parts. I like the way you can register online and make changes to your policy online without inuring an admin fee. How good they are? , well i hope i never have to find out.

Just insured our family astra estate sri thing for another year with esure. The wife and I, fully comp for little over £200. Not bad at all considering we are both under 30 and I've got an sp30.
I too always find them very helpful on the phone although not had a claim with them......yet......
