Default Bleeding brakes

Help needed. The brakes on my 95 wrx we're crap. No power no pedal feel and no pressure at pedal. I've had rear calipers off to make sure no stuck pistons or sliders. Took front 2 pots off and put some 4 pots on. Tried to bleed them up but still no pressure at pedal. I've changed master cylinder and tried to bleed again but to no avail. I started engine and had another go on one calipers and so much air came out I couldn't believe it. Does anyone know the correct method for bleeding brakes on classics? I've not got an easy bleed kit it's me and son pressing pedal

Ok check that the bleed nipples are at the top of the caliper. if there at the bottom, then the calipers are on the wrong side. Itd a common mistake to make. if there on the wrong side they wont bleed properly

Yes got float in. Ill swap calipers over tomorrow and try again. Should I start at the wheel furthest away from master cylinder?

For future reference mate, I gravity bleed for an hour or two before pumping (my old man was a mechanic back in the day) basically undo a bleed nipple, attach a pipe into a catch tray and walk away for a while. Then repeat on the other 3 corners. ( you can do all 4 together if you have enough hose to do it ) remembering to keep the fluid topped up.

When done, bleed as normal. It normally takes a shed loads of air out before even pumping the brakes.

I've had times where I've done this and there's no air to bleed out afterwards... The lazy man's approach! Lol.

The rationale is that doing it "gravity" or "suction" rather than pumping is that its supposed to dramatically reduce the chances of flipping the master cylinder seals in older motors.
