Default The Deathstar Subi

I found this site called air society today looking for something on the STI. This video called Whiteout features one slick looking WRX.

Tommy's favourite car would have cleared the snow better!!

Not a bad looking hatch - shame about the airbag suspension.

Yeah, all that rally bred tech replaced with air I liked the vid though, especially the last shot of the Subi rumbling with the exhaust fumes.

most people bitch about air, though they have never been in a car with it, setup correctly air can out handle some of the best coilovers, the yanks use it for alot of motorx events

How much extra does an air suspension kit weigh over a normal set of coilovers out of interest?

would obviously weigh a little more since you have a compressor and maybe even an air tank. the car i traded in for my 06 WRX had factory air. was a VW phaeton 3.2 V6 (R32 golf engine) and the suspension had 4 comfort/damping settings and 2 height settings. on the softest setting it was like a big heavy floaty luxobarge but on the hardest setting it would nearly bounce you out of the seat and for a 2 ton car it had like no body roll on the stiffest setting.. it was harder and pitched/rolled less than my WRX's standard suspension.

It averages out due to not having metal springs.

The compressors are super conpact now adapts and a tank weighs about half what a spare wheel does.

The struts themselves ain't heavy

I agree a well set up air'd can be just as good as any car, there's aired out RS4 that they tested on Nuremberg and it was actually quicker on air then in the standard RS4 set-up.

But I don't like how some cars sit on air as they just dump it and don't make it look right.

But that looks lovely to me and its a hatch lol
Well shot vid aswell
