2.1 stroker kit or 2.5 STI engine?
Wanting a more power than the standard 2.0 turbo. What are the normal ways of going? Reboring a 2.0 closed and or stroker kit, if it can be done, or 2.5?

I don't see anything to worry about using a WRX block up to 500 ish horses.
It will also save about £600 on the cost of the build, which can be put into other areas, or even saved, shock, horror.
Another point to bare in mind is a very large proportion of people fall out of love with their subaru once they have put 5, 10, 20k into it and sell for a fraction of what it costs to do, so unless your 100% sure you plan on keeping it and it's an on going project there's not much point going for the absolute best of everything.
And at the end of the day if your serious about going north of 500 ponies you really want to be looking at a 2.35.

Thanks for the replies. It is defo something for me to think about. I'm going to upgrade to proper coilovers first and then look at the engine. There are so many brands to choose from in the £700 mark but then Bilsteins are double that. It is mainly a track car, so I'm looking for very stiff damping and lowering slightly
